CARSON CITY, Nev., – May 24, 2016 – Today, Lynn Jurich, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Sunrun Inc. (Nasdaq: RUN), met with Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval to discuss solar policy, the Nevada Public Utilities Commission's recent decision regarding net metering, and the Governor's New Energy Industry Task Force.
Lynn Jurich released the following statement:
"I appreciated Governor Sandoval agreeing to meet and providing me the opportunity to discuss the role that Sunrun would like to have in Nevada's renewable and sustainable clean energy future. Governor Sandoval and I agree that Nevada is home to abundant amounts of solar energy that can benefit Nevada's homeowners, economy, and environment by giving Nevadans the choice to go solar."
"Sunrun continues to be disappointed by the Nevada Public Utility Commission's decision to end net metering and refusal to grandfather existing rooftop solar customers. Following the Nevada PUC's decision, Sunrun closed its operations in Nevada. During those difficult times, statements were made that were not in the spirit of partnership that Sunrun has always intended to have with Governor Sandoval."
"I welcome Governor Sandoval's offer to have an open dialogue about the importance of bringing residential rooftop solar back to Nevada and look forward to working with the New Energy Industry Task Force about the role residential rooftop solar industry can and should play in Nevada's clean energy future."
